Cambridge Startup Weekend ( http://cambridge.startupweekend.org) will take place December 10 – 11 - 12 2010 in just over 6 weeks at the Hauser Forum in Cambridge.

Startup Weekend is the place to come for anyone with a new idea that they want to see brought to life. Over the weekend teams work together to take the ideas and create real new ventures. Anyone with an idea or interest in being an entrepreneur is welcome. People with a background in developing for web or mobile, design skills, marketing experience or entrepreneurial talents are welcome. It’s hoped the event will attract about 100 people from Cambridge and surrounding cities.

Organisers, James Digby and Damien Saunders said that “Cambridge Startup Weekend is very different, because people come together to create new and fresh business models that use the internet and technology”. This is not a weekend spent writing business plans. This is not the only Startup Weekend in the UK and plans are being made for events around the UK in 2011.

The event is open to anyone interested in the local entrepreneurial community, and it puts them in a setting where anything is possible. Teams have even started to generate revenue during the 54hr event, and others have gone on to direct angel and VC investment. None of this takes into account the amazing networking, ongoing professional relationships, and amazing experience that happen at every event. In 2010, more Startup Weekend events are being planned across Europe.

Cambridge Startup Weekend will be held in the Hauser Forum. Tickets are £65 for the weekend and there are £40 concession passes available for students.
